talavo is a free iOS browser that strips the attention-engineered UI out of the modern web — YouTube ads, Shorts, comments, recommendation rails, and autoplay — leaving only the content you came for. Built by an independent two-person studio. No data collection.

100 words

talavo is a free, distraction-free web browser for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It removes YouTube ads, Shorts, comments, recommendation rails, and autoplay at the browser level, and adds a floating mini-player so video keeps playing while you browse other sites — picture-in-picture without a Premium subscription. talavo collects no browsing data; settings sync through Apple's encrypted iCloud rather than a company server. It is built and run full-time by a self-funded two-person studio that takes no investor money. The app is free, with an optional $0.99/month tier that removes a single ad shown on launch.

talavo is a free, distraction-free web browser for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, built for people who want the web without its attention traps. Instead of relying on willpower or paid subscriptions, talavo removes the entry points to the dopamine loops at the browser level: YouTube ads, Shorts, comments, recommendation rails, and autoplay all disappear, along with general web ads filtered through Apple's native WKContentRuleListStore. A floating mini-player keeps video playing while you switch sites or apps — picture-in-picture without YouTube Premium — and audio continues in the background or with the screen locked. talavo is structurally private: it runs no server that observes the URLs you visit, collects no browsing history, and uses no third-party trackers. Settings and shortcuts sync through Apple's encrypted iCloud, never a talavo server. The studio behind it is an independent, self-funded team of two, founded in 2024 and working full-time since 2025, with no investors and no acquisition pitch. The app is free; an optional Premium tier at $0.99/month removes the single advertisement shown when the app launches and changes nothing else.

About the studio

talavo is built by an independent, self-funded two-person studio based in Vienna, Austria. We started it as a side project in 2024 after watching people we know lose hours to feeds they never meant to open; by 2025 it was our full-time work. We take no investor money and run no acquisition playbook. The app is free because putting attention behind a paywall would contradict the entire point of the product. We prefer to be credited as the studio “talavo” rather than by individual names. Read the longer version on our about page.
